Neroche Discovery Day: Landscape painting in a Camden Style
Saturday 29th September
Following in the footsteps of the Camden Artists, we will meet at Applehayes for a day of painting, in the very landscape that inspired the Camden Artists 100 years ago. We will use the style of their paintings as a starting point. They simplified the landscape and flattened the natural shapes of fields and trees into almost geometrical shapes. We will be working with acrylic paints and exploring Ringdown Nature Reserve and the views of Ringdown Barn.
All abilities are very welcome, and local artist Liz Gregory will be on hand to help and guide you throughout the day.
We will provide all the paints, boards and primed paper as well as brushes, rags, water containers and plastic plates for mixing. If however you have any of these items, please bring them along. If you have a light stool or chair, bring them, but you will have to carry them to the site. You don't need an easel, but if you have a very light weight one, they are very useful. If you don't mind working on the ground, you will need something to sit on, preferably waterproof; an old carry mat, piece of groundsheet or thick plastic would be ideal.
Ringdown Nature reserve is a ten minute walk from Applehayes, however parts of the site are always muddy, and wellies are strongly advised.
Toilets available at Applehayes Studio.
