New season of courses at Neroche!
As the night draw in and the leaves begin to turn, there are a series of new opportunities now being advertised, to combine some heartening time in the beautiful Neroche forest, with learning a new skill or craft.
Just announced on the Events listing on this website, is the Autumn/Winter programme of courses at Young Wood and elsewhere - and there are some novel ideas, as well as old favourites.
In October, there is a new course - 'Earth Art' - offering a chance to learn some fascinating techniques and styles for making works of art from the wonderful hues of clay and other soils in the forest. Then later that month there is 'Cleave, Shave & Turn' - another pair of ever-popular introductory courses in green woodworking.
In November, there is 'Woodland tracks, Trails & Signs' - a course on how to spot and identify animal tracks and signs. Later in the month is 'Ancient Tree Mapping' - a course on the ecology, history and culture of the ancient oaks at Piddle Wood.
In December there is 'Campfire Cooking' - a course in how to build a fire and cook food in the wild.
Then in January there is another new departure - 'Woodland Sound Sculptures' - a chance to explore the sound of the forest and make some unique instruments.

You learn at your own pace, enjoy the company and the place, and come away with a new skill and interest. All courses are open to adults and children over 14.
